Sonata Himmelskönig, sei willkommen - 1714 - Palm Sunday
This introductory movement, in the style of a French overture although without any hint of triumphalism, evokes the glorious procession of Christ into Jerusalem but with a serious undercurrent looking ahead to Good Friday.
