BWV 51/4
Triosonata super Sei Lob und Preis mit Ehren - 1730 - Trinity XV
canto fermo in soprano
The famous soprano aria from BWV 51 is a counterpoint masterpiece of four freely moving parts. The composition shows great similarity to the fast movements of the six triosonatas for organ (BWV 525 – 530), with the addition of a cantus firmus.
