BWV 248/I/9
Chorale concertato Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her vs. 13 - 1734/35 - Christmas
The longing of advent is powerfully portrayed in this festive arrangement of Luther’s hymn Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her. Each line of the chorale is juxtaposed with a triumphant fanfare-like interlude. The setting originates from the first cantata of the Christmas Oratorio.
